Meet The Pajammers

Meet Michael – One Hit Pajama Party’s Beat Master

Michael “Of Course I Want a Nightcap” Papatonis is the heartbeat of One Hit Pajama Party. He’s been drumming since the age of nine, growing up in a house where his brother’s drum set became his earliest inspiration. Studying jazz performance and audio engineering at Capital University fine-tuned his craft, making him the dynamic drummer he is today.

Michael’s musical journey has taken him far and wide. He’s toured with guitar virtuoso Neil Zaza, brought disco vibes to life with Boogie Fever, and shared the stage with recording artist Bob Gatewood and Put-In-Bay favorite Calabash. From intricate rhythms to driving backbeats, Michael’s versatility is unmatched.

Choosing a favorite one-hit wonder is tough for Michael, but I Just Died in Your Arms stands out. “It reminds me of a happy, carefree time in my youth,” he reflects. “It’s amazing how certain songs bring it all rushing back. Who wouldn’t want to relive a little of that with some adult perspective?”

As a lifelong Queen fanatic, Michael’s love for huge harmonies, elaborate production, and unforgettable live performances started early—Queen was his first concert, and it changed his life forever. “Playing their records at high volumes was a delight and an education—not so much for my parents!”

When it comes to pajama fashion, Michael keeps it functional and fun. “Loose pajama pants and a comfortable shirt go perfectly with big backbeats and bourbon.

With Michael behind the kit, One Hit Pajama Party is guaranteed to groove, rock, and keep the rhythm rolling all night long!

Mark’s favorite one-hit wonder? She Blinded Me with Science. Why? Because screaming “SCIENCE!” at the top of his lungs is pure, unfiltered joy. His musical influences include powerhouse acts like Boston, Queen, Bad Company, Tom Petty, and Foreigner – legends who shaped the rock and roll soundscape.

Over the years, Mark has graced stages with bands like The Agenda, Tarp, and KHALEA. But his real “aha!” moment came when he heard Working for the Weekend by Loverboy – a song that ignited his dream of performing for audiences everywhere.

For Mark, music isn’t just about sound; it’s about feeling. “When you feel the music move through you and convey it to the crowd, it takes those feelings to another level,” he says.

Meet Stu – One Hit Pajama Party’s Groove Man

Stu holds down the low end for One Hit Pajama Party, bringing rhythm and style to every performance. His favorite one-hit wonder? My Sharona. “It’s a shame to say, but it’s so irresistibly catchy!” Stu’s musical journey began at an early age, inspired by watching his uncle play fiddle in a popular square dance band. From there, he picked up guitar, bass, and even saxophone, creating a foundation for his diverse musical talent.

Stu’s influences are as eclectic as his playing style, with inspirations ranging from the hard rock energy of Pat Travers to the melodic brilliance of Pat Metheny, and the progressive mastery of Yes and Rush. These legends shaped his approach to music, giving him a unique ability to blend technical skill with groove-heavy performance.

Over the years, Stu has played with several bands, touring with the John Doe Band and rocking stages with Blues Remedy and Stu and the Brew. He’s also worked alongside recording artist Verve Daddy, adding his signature basslines to their sound.

When it comes to pajama fashion, Stu brings the party with loose-fitting, colorful pajamas that are perfect for rocking out in style. Comfort is key when laying down smooth basslines, and Stu delivers both effortlessly.

With Stu holding down the groove, One Hit Pajama Party transforms every show into an unforgettable jam session. Get ready for basslines that move your feet and a party that keeps you dancing in your pajamas all night long!
